      Roger gone to Luton

      Hello all,

On Staurday (28/oct/06) I Drove round to Pauls garage who had kindly towed back my mates dollie back from luton.

I then went round to rachels and picked roger up. After about 10mins of trying to work out how the straps went on i managed to secure roger to the dollie.

Then began the journey to Luton.

I left about 10.20am and stopped at pease pottage services to check that all straps were secure as i wouldnt be stopping until luton. Everything was in place and a quick visit for some light refreshment i was on my way again.

The trip was relatavly easy going, and was beeped by a transit also carrying a mini on his flat bed.

I arrived in luton and proceeded to get myself lost, even tho i had directions.!!!!

One quick pone call and i arrived at Gavs place around 1.15pm.

Cuppa tea and chat and i was on my way home again.

I took with me 2 outer sills, 1 floor pan, 2 repair panels from rear wheel arch to front of door , 1 sheet of welding and plate.

When i got home i ordered a new rear subframe, a kit with nuts and things for rear subframe, mounting panel for the subframe and a cv joint gaitor.

      until the next time

      Renaming off Mingie

After having a load off work done prior to the MOT, MInige 3 failed on unseen corrosion.

So i Decided to rename him Roger Rusty.

He is currently awaiting a tow up to Luton where a friend who is handy with a welder is finishing him off.

Hopefully he will be ready in time for the Show season next year.

      Got Mingie 3 back

After a long week without my mini i finaly got her back on friday.

she now runs like a dream.

she was a way for a long time because whoever installed her engine basically bodged it together with a array of unmatched parts.

but got there in the end and im happy now.

      Update on service

well found out a bit more about mingies compression tests.

apprently they are the same readout as a brand new engine straight from the factory.

      chuffed about that.

tommorro she will be having new sparkplugs, condenser, points, fanbelt fitted and then she will be timed up and mixture all sorted, so she will be running like a dream come tomoro night when i pick her up.

Today he distribtor was taken out and stripped and cleaned, and so was the dashpot of the carb, hopefully the rest of the carb will come off tommorro if dave has the right gasket.

      so until then

      Mingie having a major service

      Hello all,

At the moment i am miniless as mingie 3 is having a major service done.

So far  she has had a "coil test", "compression test".

Found out that she had the wrong fan belt on hence my problems of it coming lose.

The sparkplugs were almost closed  and the points were also closed.

Both the above mentioned tests came back very good.

Will post again when i have some more news.

      Welcome

Hello all and welcome to "my space".

Here i will keep you up to date with wots going on with Mingie 3.

I brought Minigie 3 off ebay about 4 weeks ago, i had seen her on the site and fell in love instantly, there was no intention off buying her as the price would off gone out of my range.

So while i was deciding where to buy my replacment panels for Mingie 2 i had another look on ebay to see how Mingie 3 was doing.

The auction was in its last few hours and the pricw hadnt changed so i thought what the hell place a bid, i wasent going to win because everybody bids in the last few minutes.

Anyway i was still highest bidder in the last minute, and managed to win the auction with a bid off £900.01p.

      I couldnt beleive it.

I had to travel 200 miles to Birmingham to collect her, and only had one small incident on the way home, where the fan belt was losse and wasent charging the battery, luckly this happened about five minutes away from my mates house where iwas stopping to meet up with another mini fan picking her mni up.

A couples hours on the charge and fan belt tighened up i was on my way again.

So far since owning Minige 3, i have attendeed London 2 Brighton Mini run, A local cruise organised by one of my club members, and National Mini Cooper day at beulie.
